FAQ

My alarm did not fire. What went wrong?

Three things must be true for an alarm to fire reliably:

  1. Notifications enabled. Open iOS Settings → Free Alarm Clock for iPhone → Notifications → make sure Allow Notifications is ON.
  2. Sound permission. In the same notifications screen, Sounds must be ON.
  3. Volume. System volume must be above 0% (or use Heavy Sleeper Mode, which overrides Silent Mode).

If your device is in Focus / Do Not Disturb, alarms still fire as "time-sensitive" notifications by default. If you have a custom Focus that blocks our app, turn on Heavy Sleeper Mode for the alarm — it uses Critical Alerts which break through Focus.

What is Heavy Sleeper Mode?

A toggle on each alarm. When on, the alarm uses Apple's Critical Alerts feature, which:

iOS will ask permission the first time you turn it on. Without that permission, the alarm still fires as a normal alarm.

How do I add a widget?

Home Screen: long-press anywhere on the Home Screen → tap the + in the top-left → search "Alarm Clock Free" → pick a widget size.

Lock Screen: long-press on your Lock Screen → tap Customize → tap the area below or above the clock → tap + → pick our widget.

StandBy mode (iPhone 14 Pro+ on a horizontal MagSafe charger when locked): swipe sideways across the StandBy screen until you reach the widget view → press and hold → tap + → pick our widget.

I bought Pro Pack but I lost it after reinstalling. How do I restore?

Open Settings → Pro Pack → tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed into the same Apple ID you purchased with, your Pro Pack will unlock instantly.

Why does the calculated app rating in App Store show 4+ in some countries and "all" in others?

Regional content rating systems have different equivalents to Apple's 4+. The variations you see (e.g., AL Brazil) are the same level of "safe for all ages" — just labeled differently per country regulator.

What's coming next?
Will you ever add a subscription?

No. The name promises "free" and that promise is permanent. The one-time Pro Pack is optional and only unlocks extras.
